Camille Roman
I am an artist, local to the Chicagoland area, and have been drawing ever since I was able to pick up a pencil. I have continuously honed my art skills mostly on a self-taught basis, only attending general art classes in high school and college, as well, as interior design classes. Coming from an artistic family where each person had their own style and medium in which they worked, makes me thankful for the creative environment in which I grew up. I sold my first painting at the age of 18.
While I spent many years concentrating on raising my family, I always found ways to keep my creative side alive until I could dedicate myself full time as a working artist. With 2008 being a very tough year financially, and with the loss of my father, it spurred me on to realize my dream of working at the craft for which I was intended. Since making that change I have felt as though I have finally arrived at the place in life where I should be, and I have never felt so at peace with myself and the world around me. I have found a personal determination in me that I never knew I had until now. I am looking forward and not looking back!
My artwork extends itself to multiple mediums and styles ranging from pen and ink to pencil and charcoal to acrylic and watercolor, and on most any surface. I specialize in landscapes and still life that have an Impressionist flavor, lettering and murals for both commercial and residential applications, and calligraphy for special projects. I also create furniture art by reviving old pieces and turning them into new pieces of “living furniture art” for daily use in the home or to be used as an art piece to accent a collection. I have works existing in private collections and business environments across the United States and Puerto Rico.
